I know… “another green smoothie recipe” …right? Yes and No. I know that “green is the new black” and it can just be tiring to find healthy smoothies that actually taste good (just being honest). However, this one is full of flavor!
This morning we were left with a very ripe banana, an avocado that was well on it’s way to extreme ripeness and a whole container of organic spinach. Johnny suggested that I eat the banana, which didn’t sound too appetizing since I’d already eaten one very ripe banana. For those that don’t know us, we don’t like throwing out perfectly good food (saving is our thing – Johnny will share more about that later).
Anyway, my solution was to fall back on an excellent smoothie recipe, in fact, the Ultimate Avocado Spinach Green Smoothie recipe. So, before you roll your eyes at “another green smoothie recipe” give this one a chance. It’s smooth, has a wonderful flavor and an extra boost of protein.
1/2 cup almond milk
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 cup baby spinach
1 tablespoon honey
1/2 cup ice cubes (crushed)
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
